Let me start off saying, I stayed at a RIU resort in Jamaica and my experience was totally different from the location in the DR. My friend and I are currently here and have been disappointed the entire trip. Our room has not had A/C the entire time we’ve been here. I’ve submitted 10 request over the past three days and the staff is just closing out the ticket without fixing the problem. We even went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room and still wasn’t moved. We are literally waking up and going to sleep hot and sweating. The room also has ants so I spent the first night being bit. The plates at the restaurants aren’t clean and some of the staff are using their bare hands to prepare the food on the buffet line. Something was floating in the drinking water also it smells like sewer on different parts of the resort. No face towels No straws(have to put your mouth on the cups) Dingy towels Dirty pool Now me and my friend both have upset stomachs and diarrhea and have a 4hr flight home. The staff at the front desk is very rude and don’t care about go customer service. We sat in the lobby for 2 hours waiting to speak to a manager. The manager never came and they kept making excuses. The security at the gate wood not let out driver in and we asked the front desk rep to call up there and she stated “I’m not call the gate, walk” I will NOT stay at another RIU Resort after this experience. This resort should not have a 5 or a 4 star review. Trip type

Estuve con mi familia del 18 de septiembre al 22. Y la verdad es el peor resort que e visitado. Demasiado calor en todos los restaurantes. Los aires acondicionados malos. Las tarjetas para abrir no servían, tenía que ir hacerlas activar de nuevo varias veces al día cada que necesitaba ir al cuarto. La gente muy antipática muy serios y su atención terrible. El pink party terrible como se llevan toda la gente del resort a un espacio tan pequeño eso fue lo peor de todo. No lo recomiendo muy mal olor en los cuartos. Jamás volvería.

This property needs updating. They do not pick up or clean hallway,steps, and pool area. At night all the pools have people having sex in them and condums floating in pools. The bathroom are gross dirty and puck in them. The staff in the gift shop are very rude and lots of staff unfriendly. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY STAY AWAY!

This is a party resort, so if you are going here simply to party this is the resort for you. I’ll start with the bad: The rooms were dirty, and not up to date. The mirrors have rust on them. House keeping only gave us one single towel and it took hours for them to bring a second one on the first day. Then they forgot to clean our room / supply fresh towels another day. The food here is terrible - mostly buffets and the sit down dinners only take 100 people a night so if you don’t get here early you aren’t getting a sit down waited dinner. Buffet food is out for hours and has bugs flying in it and is cold. gross. - I got food poisoning from the food here…so eventually stopped eating the meat and just ate salads and fruit. Our room cards stopped working every single night. We had to go to front desk to have them reset them literally every day…this was a problem for many people at the resort and for our six days there they weren’t able to find a solution. Some rooms are a ten minute plus walk to front desk so it’s rather annoying. The pools where the swim up bars are at are DIRTY. Lots of people partying and never leaving, you do the math. With that, the pool bars are supposed to close at six but sometimes they close them at 5:45. Entertainment at nighttime was non existent. Okay now the good, the beach is beautiful & lots of pools to pick from. Mora the bartender was phenomenal, great guy! We will not come back to this resort.

I haven’t reached home yet but honestly I’ve never been more ready in my life. Over the past 4 days, I have never seen a worse service/unwelcoming resort in my life. The crowd/staff was absolutely atrocious & so disrespectful. Myself & my two roommates were dehydrated, ill, & bedridden & all we wanted was bottled water & necessities to stay alive. Every time I called for it, I was either hung up on, yelled at, cursed at in another language or a combination of all the above. Do not stay here. When I get back to my home country (alive thankfully) I will be escalating this to management & filing a dispute as this has literally been a living hell. I’ve never been living in “paradise” & felt like this before.

Cleansiness was very bad. Towels day over day were stained. I had ants running around in my room. I had small bites all over my legs. The safe in my room was not working, did not provide me thr requested king bed. The pool seemed liem it needed more cleaning.

This property was horrible. Smelled like mariguana everywhere. People screaming and running down the hallway. The food was very poor quality and not well presented. Will never stay here again. The staff was great and very friendly. Specially the guys in the buffet dinning room.

The property is popular because of the name but it was not clean and the food selection was horrible same thing everyday The pools were huge which was nice but not clean and than a guy was cleaning the pool and the dirt just linger in the water which made no sense to clean while people In the pool. La propiedad requiere de mas mantenimiento en las piscinas, barras y ascensores. La ventilacion de aire no es la mejor y los abanicos no funcionan. En ocasiones hay poco personal para la cantidad de personas que hay en el hotel.

The beach was nice but the food was terrible. Drinks were fine unless you are a beer drinker, only one option for that. I cannot stress how bad the food is. Several people in our group got sick from the burgers at the late night bar.
