Cheap flights from Chicago to Cozumel
Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is situated about 17 miles from the city of Chicago and it can be reached by traveling along Interstate routes 90, 290 or 294.
Typical flight times from ORD to Cozumel International Airport (CZM) are between five and seven hours, and upon landing in Mexico, the main routes will be Antonio Gonzalez Fernandez Highway and the Avenida Rafael E. Melgar.
Attractions and Tips
The Laguna Chankanab is a small lake popular with tourists and has clear waters that make it idea for snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving. The Palancar Reef provides great diving opportunities and is home to all the fascinating marine life of the area. There are at least 30 smaller Mayan sites on the island, although not all have been excavated and documented.
Cozumel has some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Mexico, with the aptly named Paradise Beach being the most popular. Many vacationers and Spring Break young people visit the island for these beaches, but it would be advisable to stay alert to strong current conditions in the area.
Cozumel has a long wet season lasting from May through year’s end, so be prepared for frequent rainfall and plan accordingly. The temperatures are warm throughout the year, with December through February being slightly cooler months.
