Flights to Cozumel land at Cozumel International Airport (CZM). United Airlines, Sun Country, Interjet, Mayair, and British Airways all offer direct Cozumel flights from locations in Canada, the US, and Mexico. The airport itself is small but modern, with several rental car kiosks which will also provide you with maps of the island. If you make rental arrangements in advance, you may get a better bargain or a sales deal. You can also find minibuses waiting at the airport that will take you directly to your hotel, or a short walk from the airport to the street will get you a taxi, which may be cheaper. Alternatively, visitors can fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN) and take the ferry to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen.
Cozumel Weather
Cozumel is known for its warm temperatures and sunshine year-round, with flights to Cozumel most popular in March, June, and July. The temperature almost never dips below 68F and rarely rises above 90F, and fresh breezes blowing off the Caribbean Sea help temper the heat. The hottest months are from April to July, and the warm waters off the coast makes for pleasant diving, swimming, and snorkeling. While the hurricane season technically runs from May to November, most hurricanes occur from September to November, and there is usually plenty of warning. Better deals on Cozumel flights and hotels may be found during these months.
