Hugh and Denise were the most welcoming hosts. The room was comfortable and warm and the evening meal and breakfast were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Elephant’s nest.
Our stay was perfect. The room had everything we needed to make our stay a happy one.
The breakfast was delicious and the menu varied.
The surrounding countryside is incredible.
Well worth a visit.

Meals very good but expensive. The room was not comfortable, the bed itself was terrible. so soft,
Heaps of character and a warm welcome. Amazing bar. It is only open as a B&B now but well worth ordering food to eat in - a 16th century inn all to ourselves!
Delicious breakfast, extensive choice. Very comfortable kingsize bed. Towelling bathrobes, handmade soap for a luxury feel. Spacious rooms. Proper fresh milk in the little fridge in the room for hot drinks. Isolated spot on Dartmoor, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

A character property with nice views. The room was comfortable & warm. There was thick heavy dressing gowns to relax into... Perfect. Good supply of morning refreshments with fresh milk in the fridge & two bottles of water at know extra charge. The management were very hospitable & the breakfast was very substantial. This is a friendly, homely place to stay.
Unfortunately the owners have decided against reopening the bar which is disappointing. Pleasant place to stay for a night or two but would avoid against any lengthly stays as beds are incredibly soft and uncomfortable.
Our stay at the Elephant's Nest was comfortable and very relaxing. The breakfast was excellent, with good choices on offer. The evening menu was also excellent. I would highly recommend this venue as a good place to stay.
Nice location. Room and bathroom very good but it is next to a boiler room and was very hot all night even with windows open, found it difficult to sleep.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and they served a great breakfast. The pub itself had a lovely traditional atmosphere and the food was excellent. A great base for a weekend stay in the Dartmoor area.
Warm friendly Pub with accommodation. Rooms are well laid out and roomy. The staff were very friendly. This is also a dog friendly pub, so we took our dogs so that we could take them up onto the moors.
Wonderful stay. Room was very clean and comfortable and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. The owners and staff were very friendly and the food was excellent too.
A bit disappointed that the Inn took £40 deposit which I never knew until we checked out today and checked my bank account.
We didn't get any discount when the heating wasn't working for both nights. 2nd night we were given a small fan heater.
Rooms seem a little run down this time around.
Owners moods are very different morning and night so never sure if they will be happy or not.
Entrance to car park is full of pot holes but large car park but mostly taken up by staff and owners.
Lovely small Pub B&B (only 3 rooms) but personal service, great quality in bedroom etc. Food was exceptional although would be nice to have the pub open a bit earlier in the evening than 6.30 pm to have an earlier drink before dinner.
excellent food, friendly, beautiful ancient pub. Lacking drawer space for clothes, mean with the tea bags and no shower cap/gel/soap etc provided......rectify that and it's 5*
