My Wife loved it as soon as we walked in. Yes she loves new beautiful clean hotels but Chipman Suites are different on a whole level. Old heritage buildings kept as original as possible by a small team of cleaners and maintenance staff who work wonders. Between the huge comfy king-size sled bed to the original window shutters our short visit was both comfortable and educational. The Chipman Suites on Sydney Street Saint John are staff less which was a little strange but you get plenty of e-mails explaining the parking arrangements and your initial arrival instructions so no need to panic. We will definitely be staying here again.

We always stay at Chipman Hill Suites when we visit Saint John NB. The suites are beautiful, clean and well-appointed. The buildings are centrally located. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful old building and is well kept and managed. My room was well equipped with all that I needed and more. I would definitely stay here again. I think you should be aware that parking spots on the street fill up at night and you may have to park a few blocks from the hotel if you come in late. The area around the hotel did not feel safe for a woman in her 70s. The option of parking at the school is a good one for those departing at 7am.

The property is stunning. The main level is welcoming, especially the beautiful and relaxing sunroom. My room was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed for my stay. The street noise was more than I've experienced. A 3am fight outside was so startling to the point that I was afraid and couldn't go back to sleep. I was considering calling 911 it was so intense, but they moved down the street and someone stepped in to deescalate it. I would consider staying at this location again, but not as a solo female traveler.

What a beautiful place Chipman Hill Suites is! A gorgeous restored Victorian, our spotless suite was large with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The balcony is a nice touch, with a view to beautiful uptown Saint John just a short walk away. And Mary Grace is a wonderful host, great communicator and a big help with parking our camper trailer.

They arranged for parking for us. We received clear email communications on access to the building and parking. We will stay at the same property if we go back to Saint John.

The Suites on Sydney are a truly unique property. Fantastic Victorian era home with an excellent sun room. Had a toilet issue but was taken care of quickly. Convenient parking across the road.

Our stay was great, albeit some confusion with the hotel because the room we booked on hotels.com was actually not available. After some back and forth via email with the hotel, we were able to eventually get back the original room that we booked, however I needed to do more communication leg-work than ideal. However, our suite itself was lovely and very clean. Although the property is unstaffed, we never felt like we needed to get in touch with the staff anyways. The solarium is brilliant!
