This Microtel was perfect-ish. The rooms were clean, updated, and spacious. The location was awesome and safe. My only complaint and the reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is because of check-in personnel.
There was no one at the front desk for 20 minutes when we initially got there. Yes, TWENTY MINUTES. No exaggeration. There were serveral of us who waited and waited, calling the main line and no one was picking up. A couple people called the parent company and when the parent company called, no one picked up for them either. Once someone finally came back, It was a man who was very agitated because of the task he had just been working on for quite a while in a guest’s room. He became more agitated once the parent/sister property got through and explained people were waiting on him. He stated that he “can’t be in two places at once.” I would have given this incident a pass and not mention it at all if it weren’t for his total lack of regard for keeping guests waiting. A simple and sincere, “Sorry to have kept you all waiting, folks. My apologies. Who can I help first?” approach would have saved the day. The bad attitude made for a super bad first impression of your establishment.
