We stayed as two couples in this two room apartment. Host was easy to contact and check in was easy. The space itself is not what it seems on the surface. Has a strong musty basement smell. There is holes in the walls in both bedrooms. The bathrooms have stains in the bathtub and shower. The air condition could not be adjusted and was set permanently to 20 degrees which was cold and host offered to send somebody to fix it. Limited kitchen equipment, no oven mitts or oven tray. Washing machine but no detergent, the bathroom door in the basement could not be open easily and get stuck. You can easily hear people walking up and down the common iron stairs. Other tenants of the bulding get confused and try to enter this location or look through the glass door. Floor was dirty, socks were black after walking around. The shower only had a 3 in 1 cheap product and no other amenities. Friends were very upset with the condition of the place and we are now permanently going to avoid all apartment listings and stick to hotels in the future.

The unit was disgusting!
Dirty, the back door was unlocked so anyone could get in. Beds were not made. The bathroom was damaged, dirty dishes in sink. The hosts were hard to get a hold of. We were told to leave and come back several hiurs later.

If you like expensive and dirty, this is the spot for you
The only thing the host sent that was correct was the door code. Wifi was wrong, lights didn’t work, doors couldn’t shut, handles were missing, floors turned your socks black, pillows were paper thin and the water from the shower fell an inch away from the wall. I expected a lot more for what we paid but I guess that’s what you get in a capitalist society. I wouldn’t stay here again if it was the last place available in Montreal.

Holes in the wall, cigarette burns on bed, unclean
In the listing photos, the property looked good. Upon arrival, we noticed an odour of faint cigarette smoke and/or pets. One of the bedroom had two small holes in the wall and the other bedroom had cigarette burns on the linens. There were no basic soaps in the washrooms for handwashing, no hand towels or face cloths available. There were only three small bath towels - for two adults over three days. One of the bath towels, we had to use on the bathroom floor where water was slowly leaking from either the base of the toilet or under the sink - we couldn't tell. When I opened the curtain in the living room, I noticed debris/garbage on the window sill and on the floor. These consisted of the handle of razor, a cigarette/joint butt, and a chewed up tennis ball (pet toy?). Finally, it was a very hot weekend when we were there and the ad forthe property listed air conditioning as an amenity. There was no air conditioning. In fact, there was not even a working thermostat where we could turn on a fan. The temperature of the property sat around 23 degrees while we were there. I would have liked it to be around 20 degrees. I messaged the host with all my concerns and they responded sporadically without addressing any issues. They didn't seem to care about my concerns.
