"On the Way" to Montana beauty: Glacier Park, Ski resorts, Flathead lake & more!

On the way to GNP in the summer and a choice of two ski resorts in the winter! Each are a mere 30-45 minutes from this "On the Way" vacation home. Even closer are lakes, rivers, hiking trails and bike paths! A favorite local swimming hole is the aqua-colored Foys Lake—a short 10 minute drive away. Flathead Lake (the largest natural lake west of the Missouri) is just 10 minutes further with a public swimming area in Somers' Bay. Hiking trails are as abundant as the wild flowers that embellish the Rocky Mountain Range—20 minutes from your door!

When not exploring the Flathead Valley's stunning beauty and friendly people, you will feel quite at home relaxing on the patio among the towering blue spruce trees that define this "once in the country" home. Reviews from guests reflect on the peaceful quiet and comfort of this well-cared-for home featuring two bedrooms, each with queen beds, and the larger bedroom including a set of twin bunk beds. The spacious bathroom is completely updated with new everything! Additionally, a half-bath has been recently added making larger gatherings even more comfortable. A large, relaxed living area includes TV, WiFi, and various streaming options. Kitchen comes complete with all large appliances including dishwasher and microwave as well as small appliances including coffee-maker, hot pot, pancake griddle and toaster. Whether packing for a picnic or full meal prep, you will find the vintage-original cupboards contain the tools you need. Washer and dryer included, along with a drying rack and ironing board! Beach towels are available for enjoying summer in the Flathead. A cool basement family room adds refreshment at day's end, complete with TV, Foosball, and comfy furniture on which to stretch out and relax.

---Take the bypass north and head NE to the infamous Glacier National Park where you will enjoy hiking, crystal-clear lakes, roaring waterfalls & intriguing wild life, surrounded by mountains and trees enough to satiate the most thirsty nature-loving soul.
---Take the bypass south two exits and head west to Foys Lake for public swimming.
---Take the bypass all the way south and you are nearly to Flathead Lake and the public beach at Somers Bay or 5 minutes further to the waterfront town of Lakeside.
---Take the bypass all the way south and you are nearly to Hwy 82 which takes you to the charming village of Bigfork, which features fabulous live theatre, dining & shopping all surrounded by the large and lovely Flathead Lake.
---Take the bypass north and you are heading toward the delightful town of Whitefish, situated near Whitefish Lake, and at the base of Whitefish Mountain (aka Big Mountain).
---A quick 2 exits north on the bypass will take you to Costco, a variety of box stores and restaurant options, and even the cinema!

I would absolutely recommend "Home on the Way" to anyone seeking a vacation stay in Montana. The location was conveniently located near the airport, restaurants, and grocery stores but didnt feel congested. The property was very clean and Cindy is very thoughtful about any amenities that a vacationing family might need. I LOVE the family story that came with the house and the drive to Glacier National Park from here was beautiful. Can't say enough good things about our stay here.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the House on the Way. When we walked in, it felt like home. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed and even things we hadn't thought of! It was super clean. The area between the garage and the house made for pleasant evenings outside, and we even used the grill to make dinner. There were games and DVDs available as well as brochures on local activities and attractions. The owner was very gracious and communications between us were great. There was a history of the house, and we really felt like we were family staying there. It felt like home.

Having a place to come to and relax after a day of exploring is always nice but "House on the Way" exceeds all expectations. We were spoiled with very comfortable beds, beautiful linens, plenty of towels, air conditioning, beautiful decor, and a kitchen stocked with all the asoc utensils and seasonings needed to prepare meals. The hospitality you feel during your stay also gives you a beautiful connection that only adds to the feelings of a complete and wonderful vacation!

Cindys house was immaculate and very smartly furnished for travelers. She communicated with us and made the vacation so pleasant with the property fitting the bill to a tee! This property was perfect. I had thought in the picture, that the living room was dark and dated - was I surprised. Beautiful, comfortable, lots of light. Beds were extremely comfortable. Bath room was large and even good for a handicapped person like me. I asked about a shower chair, and it was brought at our first day. Terrific response to any question, well worth a stay.// Don't miss out on this house.

Wonderful retreat
Wonderful retreat after very full days at Glacier NP. Very clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms with every amenity. The outside space was every bit as inviting as the inside. Can’t say enough about the hostess and how accommodating she was. Would stay here again, just try to spend more time!

Cindy was so wonderful to work with. She was very communicative and helpful. She leaves a great tips guide for her guests. The home was the perfect size for our family of four. So much fun!
The house on the way was perfect for our family. It was so clean and we felt like we were at grandmas house. Cindy was amazing at communicating and so accommodating. The location was great and easy access to everything. This was honestly the best rental we’ve ever stayed at. We’ve never stayed in such a clean rental, which is probably the most important thing for us when staying somewhere. I would definitely recommend this house!

Very clean, nice house. Foosball table was fun. Location is in housing tract so hard to compare with our previous place which was a cabin on the Nez Pierce river. Did meet our needs and was a great place to prep out visits to Glacier national park. Owners were very accommodating and provided cooler and folding chairs for day trips. This property was exactly as described and exceeded expectations. The location was perfect - centrally located for everything we needed/had planned, and in a quiet neighborhood. Even though we visited during a record-breaking heat wave, the home stayed extremely cool. Must be the old-school construction. It was very clean and comfortable. My wife wanted to take the comforter on the master bed home with us. Cindy was very communicative and offered some great local knowledge. We would definitely stay here again.

Exactly as advertised
We had a great time at the property. It is an older home but immaculately clean and in great shape. The bathroom has been remodeled too. The location is very convenient to restaurants and shopping and about a 40-45 minute drive to Glacier NP. Also there is a bike trail that runs very close to this property. We didnt ride on it but if appears to go for many miles. We highly recommend it.
