Great Spot
We all immediately felt relaxed upon walking through the door. The place just has a cozy feel. Would recommend to anyone that's looking to decompress and just hang out. You must go to Puck's Glen though, which will be more than enough exercise for your stay.

Beautiful and tranquil house
We loved our stay at the Eckford House. The house was beautiful, with very comfortable furniture in the sitting room and bedrooms. The kitchen was also very nice. Every room was decorated to a high standard. The house is situated at a quiet and idyllic setting with a very pretty path that takes you to a stream with a waterfall. The kids loved seeing the resident rooster and ducks walk around the property. It was chilly in the evening so it was nice to have plenty of firewood to make a fire in the fireplace. Our family also enjoyed the fancy hot tub in a separate part of the house after a long day of sightseeing and walking. It's a short drive to the Botanic Garden and Dunoon. The hosts Sandy and Roisin were very responsive and helpful with our questions. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to this part of Scotland, will definitely be back again for a visit.

Gorgeous house, wonderful location, perfect hosts
We stayed at Eckford House for 10 days and had the most wonderful time. We arrived to a warm house with a roaring fire, a bottle of Baileys and a box of biscuits on the table, fresh eggs in the fridge and gorgeous toiletries in our rooms. The house itself is spacious yet cosy. The views are spectacular, we never tired of them. Our days were spent exploring the local area and our evenings were spent in the hot tub, playing games and stargazing. Just perfect! Sandy and Roisin were great hosts, totally unobtrusive yet available whenever we needed anything. We really didn’t want to leave. We recommend this property highly (whilst secretly wishing we could keep it to ourselves so that we could return whenever we wanted!) Thank you for everything, we had the most perfect Christmas and New Year break,

Hidden Gem of Dunoon
We had a fantastic 6 night stay at this hidden gem nestled near the forest in Benmore,Dunoon. The house was immaculate, comfy beds, lovely wood burning fire and a fabulous hot tub. Highly recommend this house! It’s fair to say we will be returning.

Nice stay shame about the owner!
The stay was fine until we got accused of taking a dog which had passed away before we went on holiday. Even after sending proof to the owner we still have been accused and fined because the owner found dog hairs in the kitchen of the property, this was from their dog! It was lovely to be able to pet a dog and feed it sausages from the bbq considering the circumstances. All in all this whole experience was ruined by having to prove the family dog was dead! Sad times!

Enjoyable week’s stay in a lovely house and location
We had a very enjoyable week’s stay in August. The house was characterful with large comfortable rooms, and the hot tub was an added bonus and used daily. The location was quiet, with beautiful scenery, and views. Benmore Botanical gardens is just down the road, which is well worth a visit. We also enjoyed local walks and Pucks Glenn. The weather was fairly cool but stayed dry for the majority of the time and we were able to go out and visit many lovely places, and enjoy family time together. We would not hesitate in recommending and would love to come back again one day.

Exceptionally clean, lots of space and a stunning view
The stay was excellent, the property was exceptionally clean as far as these places go and stocked with just about any utensil you can think of! Plenty of room and with a great view over the surrounding hills. It's just far enough out of town that it feels secluded, but not far enough away to be inconvenient. That being said, this is a conjoined property, so the owners are just through a wall so take that into consideration, though to be fair they were very respectful of privacy and such and left us to it other than to greet and see us off when the trip was over. Some small notes, you will need a midge plan, the house (being a bit old and grand) has plenty of gaps on doors and nooks where midges will get in. Don't make the mistake we did on the first night and leave lights on in the evening! Also, there was a fire pit / barbecue with a very generous amount of wood but oddly nothing to light the wood with!!! We had to buy some fire starter but to be honest this was a tiny bit of ironic oversight compared to how well the rest of the house was kept and managed. Hot tub was also exceptionally clean, I believe it was completely refilled every night, you'll understand how that is accomplished when you get there ;)

Perfect UK getaway!
I chose Eckford House as it seemed a perfect hideaway if the UK summer weather let us down. It was everything I hoped for. A quiet location with beautiful views and Loch Eck nearby. There are activities nearby that were enhanced by rain (Puck's Glen right by the property, Quad biking 15 mins drive away) and it was a cosy retreat with plenty of room for the teenagers to hide away when they needed to and the hot tub was the perfect welcome home each day. The property was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. The owners were friendly and helpful. I would love to return at any time of year.

Wonderful week
Incredibly quiet and isolated. Wouldn't have known we were next door to anyone. The hosts were super helpful and when the heating didn't work they got it sorted with an hour or so. Lovely folk, lovely place. Maybe a little less chlorine in the tub, a few of us were starting to get minor skin irritation.

Excellent Break
The house is lovely and the location is stunning! We all had an excellent stay at Eckford House. The hot tub was a great way to relax after our day and having a log fire burning at night added to the experience. We knew there were neighbours attached to the house by reading other reviews but we didnt see them or hear from them so it still felt like we had our privacy. (We assumed they are the owners of Eckford House) We would recommend and definitely use again.!

Lovely house and perfect location
We had a really fabulous weekend at the house. It had everything we needed and really exceeded our expectations. I noticed someone had mentioned a lock on the jack and gill bathroom in a previous review and the lack of a lock did cause us a problem since we were sharing with my 20 year old daughter and her boyfriend! Maybe this could be something to sort out....other than that we really couldn't fault the house, the views, the weather and the hosts :-)

Our stay at Eckford House was so relaxing, the house is beautiful and the setting is stunning. The house sits in a beautiful valley with walks all around. The hot tub is an essential addition after long walks, and the bottle of wine left for our arrival was a nice touch to enjoy by the stove in the evening. Informal, relaxed, enjoyable stay
I stayed in Eckford house for 1 week with 3 other adults and 2 dogs. We loved our stay, it felt like a home away from home, except for the hot tub which was an extra treat! Sandy and Roisin were easily contactable and helpful with questions. Check in and check out were super easy. The location for us was perfect as we had amazing walks on our doorstep for the dogs. Further afield we particularly loved Inveraray and the secret Argyll coast. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future.
