Rustic Lux! Private Cabin, Hot Tub, Game Room A+

Summary:
When you dream about retreating to a cabin in the mountains, this is exactly what you imagine. 4 wheel drive required (November-March). Your enchanting 5-BDRM (with one being a loft), 3-bath home is tucked in the forest with a rear clearing offering sweeping mountain views.
Enjoy them from the hot tub, the outdoor living/dining area, around the gas firepit on the patio, or from inside your private “chalet” looking out through spectacular two-story windows.

The Space:
The desirable Woodland Park location puts you within easy reach of the area’s top attractions and Colorado Springs.

In a clearing of lush evergreens stands your private mountain paradise with its russet exterior and decorative timber details. A 2-story log portico frames the front entrance. Step inside to find coat hooks and two benches, perfect for pulling off your hiking boots.

No weddings, large events or parties are permitted on the property. The maximum occupancy for this home is 12 guests.

No ATV's are permitted on the property. 4-wheel drive required (November-March).

Upon entering the home, you will be welcomed into the open concept living area, your jaw will drop. Like a rustic yet elegant cathedral, the sitting area soars two stories high, showcasing a back wall of windows that frame a breathtaking view of the Rockies. A dramatic open staircase supported by towering timbers climbs to a loft bedroom above that shares the view. Ample leather seating is bathed in the light of the windows and enjoys the warmth of a nearby fireplace. A wall-mounted TV stands to the side and a door leads to the outdoor living space.

Flowing from the sitting area into the dining/kitchen area, you’ll find a dining table for 8 and a gigantic granite breakfast island with stools for 5. A warm, inviting and spacious kitchen provides every convenience for preparing loving home meals, including a suite of stainless steel appliances: a French door refrigerator, range, microwave, and dishwasher. You’ll make good use of the coffee maker, toaster, tea kettle, cooking utensils, cutting boards, and a complete set of chef’s knives.

Standing on opposite sides of the open concept living area, you’ll find spacious bedrooms with king-size beds, TVs, large closets, and sliding glass doors with mountain views leading to a house-hugging deck, each side with outdoor seating for two. One bedroom features a luxurious en suite bath with a soaking tub, oversized shower stall, 2-sink vanity, and a discreet closed-door alcove for the toilet. The second bedroom is served by a large, attractive bath with a shower/tub combo and a vanity with generous counter space. The deck here leads directly to the outdoor hot tub.

One or two lucky guests will stay in the loft bedroom atop the grand staircase, where an iron railed balcony allows the room’s occupants to share the views and light of the living area’s two-story windows. It’s a spacious but cozy space with a peaked, knotty pine-paneled ceiling and dormer windows, plus a king-size bed and TV.

A lower level provides even more living space for big groups of up to 12, including a large family room with a plush L-shaped sofa and chairs centered before a jumbo TV, with a new surround sound system to enjoy your favorite movies and sports- plus a table for 4, perfect for games or casual meals. Two bedrooms occupy this level, one with a king-size bed, TV, and sliding glass doors leading onto a private furnished patio. The second bedroom is perfect for kids, with two sets of bunk beds sleeping a total of 4. Guests on this level are served by a bath with a shower/tub combo.

A laundry room on the main level provides a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.
Behind the home, a clearing provides a wide, glorious view of the mountains, which can be enjoyed from several vantage points. A brick-floor, fresh-air living area is furnished with a plush L-shaped sofa and two dining tables. Al fresco meals can be prepared on the deck, where a large grill is at your disposal. Steps away, a wide brick circle is the setting for a firepit. Just outside one of the bedrooms, a hot tub will accommodate at least 4.

Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. This home is managed by a local vacation rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.

Found our Summer Rental
My family loved everything this home had to offer. It was great to have more than enough room in the home; it had everything we wanted and we would love to come back the same time every year. We wanted to find a place that wasn’t too close to neighbors, a great place for hikes, a fireplace, hot tub, grill for family cooked meals and the game room was an extra plus. thank you for helping us make wonderful memories with our kids. ❤️ The only thing the house would need is a few more supplies since there isn’t a store nearby. Maybe some Kleenex tissues, qtips/cotton balls, condiments like ketchup, mustard, maybe a stick of butter. Just some things that you may forget on a trip.

Ok stay
Overall, it was a good stay. Upon arriving, the AC was not working with a note on the thermostat saying "No AC defrosting in progress" It was well over 80 degrees in the house. I messaged on the app and they said they would look into it. They did have portable window AC units hooked up, so it appeared there had been some trouble with the AC for awhile. On day 3 of our stay I believe someone came to look at it. By this point my husband had checked the air filter and it was filthy. We took that out. Also the fuse for the AC on the outside of the house was upside down. We turned that around and things started working. We told maintenance to bring a new filter but they did not. I believe they had just walked into the house and felt that it was cool and said it was working, not looking at anything. The hot tub was filthy dirty. It had a terrible smell and was green. We would not let our kids in it towards the end of the trip. I do not think this has been maintained or cleaned in a very long time. There were cigarettes butts all over the patio. If it rains alot, the road was very difficult to drive on in spots. It was washed out in a lot of spots with big ruts. Those were the negatives. It had a great view and was secluded. It is a nice home and pretty roomy. Overall, it was a nice stay, but the AC was a pretty major downfall but once we fixed it ourselves things were better.

Ac the reason for 41/2 stars
The ac on the second floor did not blow hard. Stayed around 80 to 85 degrees Other than that issue the house was very nice. Kitchen well stocked just bring food. Wildlife is all around seen bears, deer, a black squirrel. Definitely need a truck or suv to get to the house it is about 3 miles off paved roads. The outside sitting area, Bluetooth speakers and hot tub are a wonderful addition.

Very Happy Family
We held our annual family (+friends) gathering in this beautiful home. It was perfect. The location is cozily private and remote yet close to many sites of interest in the Woodland Park/Colorado Springs area. The home is furnished with beautiful and comfortable furniture. In addition, the kitchen is fully stocked with fine cookware and utensils. Also the beds and bedding were fabulous! In addition there was a fully equipped game barn. We spent several hours enjoying all the games. I highly recommend this wonderful property.
