Landing in Honolulu International Airport (HNL) places visitors on the southern-most tip of the Island of O'ahu. It is also next to one of the most memorable locations of World War II, Pearl Harbor. Getting Around
There are three major routes out of HNL airport consisting of the Queen Liliuokalani Freeway heading west, Lunalilo Freeway heading east, and the John A Burns Freeway which heads northeast in order to traverse the mountain ranges to visit the other side of the island. Many smaller streets and avenues branch off from these freeways, connecting visitors to various neighborhoods and areas such as Hoaloha Park and Makiki Springs. Almost every attraction around Honolulu is within an hour’s drive from HNL.
