One of the most pleasant aspects you will find about international San Diego flights is that the airport is about 10 minutes from downtown. Diego International Airport operates flights domestically between large cities, as well as between Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. A new route between Japan is scheduled to open during the 2012 winter months. Flights to San Diego coming from other countries connect to the Los Angeles International Airport. Tijuana International Airport on the Mexico border is closer to San Diego than L.A., so it is possible to land in Mexico and be in San Diego relatively soon. Rental cars, taxis, buses and shuttles are available from the airport terminals.

San Diego Weather

San Diego weather tends to be unpredictable, so it is important to pack for rain or shine. It is a good idea to pack a sweater, especially if you want to walk along the ocean beaches at night. The summer months tend to be the most popular for visitors seeking the famous California sun and rocking some serious surf. While temperatures dip to around 10C in the winter, many people still explore the city. You will find that Sand Diego lives up to its relaxed reputation in all aspects, so do not have to worry about packing extensive wardrobe. Many of the bars and restaurants have lax dress codes. Be sure to pack a swimsuit, shorts, and sunscreen.

Getting Around San Diego

Renting a car in San Diego is highly recommended. The city is spread widely in all directions, so rentals are the most convenient way to explore on your own time. Renting a car in San Diego also gives you the precious freedom to explore the outlying beaches and slightly more remote regions around the city. If you are staying in the downtown core, getting around by bus is also convenient. Many routes have designated stops at tourist attractions, so you should be able to navigate between them easily. The San Diego trolley has several lines that connect downtown with other districts, like Old Town and San Ysidro on the Mexico border. Cycling around San Diego is among the best options, offering a chance to sink into the chill vibe and take your time exploring abundant cafes, boutiques, and boardwalks.
