The house is need of repair and updating. You can tell that the cleaners do a great job, but the house itself still just feels gross. The pillows on the couch were old and stained. There was food stuck way down in the couch. Again, this is something I wouldn't expect the cleaning service to know. I only know because my child lost a toy and when I reached in to try to get it out, I almost threw up. There are TVs in every room, but they only have like 5 channels. There are a ton of DVDs, but no instructions on how to play them in the video game system. The queen bed is extremely noisy and uncomfortable, and the fitted sheet doesn't actually fit, so it pops off every time you move, so you have to get out of bed and adjust it during the night. You can't open the closet in the bedroom because the side table is in the way. There was a weird Polaroid picture of teenagers inside or the lampshade...it was bizarre. There were several cans of raid under the sink and we found out why on the second day. We woke up to ants in all of our dry food that was on top of the microwave and inside the cabinet under the microwave. We had to throw it all away and spray chemicals inside and outside of the house. They only provide 1 towel and washcloth per guest, so I needed to wash them halfway through our trip. It took the dryer over 6 hours to dry them, and it kept randomly shutting off. The washing machine smells. The vacuum smells. The location was good, but Cape Charles is so small that pretty much any location is good, so. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. We just did as much as we could outdoors and away from the house, and tried to just look at it as a place to sleep. I would not recommend this place, and I feel like I wasted my money staying here.
