Cheap flights from San Jose to Kona (Big Island of Hawaii)
Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) is a moderately sized airport. The VTA Airport Flyer #10 stops at the Light Rail station and Santa Clara Cal Train stations. BART and Amtrak are also viable public transportation options, with travel by car or taxi being equally as efficient. If you are driving, freeways 101-N/S, 280 and 880 all have easy routes to SJC.
Kona International Airport (KOA) is located on the island of Hawaii. The Hele-On Bus can take you to Kailua-Kona, but travel by taxi or car is the best option in this area. If you are driving, Highway 19/Queen Ka’ahumanu Hwy is right nearby.
Attractions and tips
The “Big Island” in Hawaii offers many natural wonders and scenic resorts for travelers. Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park is home to heiau temples with ancient petroglyphs.
Kahaluu Beach Park offers exciting snorkeling and beautiful wave watching, while Wawoli Park Beach is a less crowded option for beach goers. The Kona area of Hawaii island is renowned for its myriad coffee farms, many of which offer tours.
