Cheap flights from New Delhi to Chicago
Named after India's first female Prime Minister, Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is located about ten miles from New Delhi city center, and the Delhi Railway station. A 20-minute journey via Sardar Patel Marg will get you from downtown Delhi to DEL. Metro and private buses are available to take you to the airport, as well. Flight times are usually fifteen-and-a-half hours to Chicago O’Hare International (ORD). It takes 30 minutes with traffic to travel from (ORD) to downtown Chicago via I-90.
Attractions
Chicago's Navy pier is a half-mile long stretch with a 150-foot Ferris wheel, a beer garden and several restaurant chains, all with a lakefront view. The Chicago Children's Museum and Smith Museum of Stained Art also call the pier home. Test your vertigo with a visit to the Willis Tower and the John Hancock Center skyscrapers. The Randolph Street and Maxwell Street markets, and the Magnificent Mile, offer shopaholics the proper mix of antiques, collectibles and quality merchandise.
Hints and tips
Chicago is ten hours and 30 minutes behind New Delhi, so be prepared for some jet lag. The city has an efficient and economical ground transport system of trains and buses. The Blue Line bus connects O’Hare to the Chicago loop, while the Red Line connects Howard to Dan Ryan Expressway.
