Cheap flights from Washington DC to Phoenix
To head into Washington Ronald Reagan National (DCA) Airport from the capital, take the Washington Metro to avoid some of the traffic. You can also use the Blue or Yellow bus lines that drop visitors off at Terminals B and C. Flight times are usually three-and-a-half hours to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) Airport, located only about three miles from the downtown area. Consider using shuttles, taxis or even renting a car to help you get around.
Attractions and Tips
Get a great picture of life in the desert at The Desert Botanical Garden. Here you can check out some of the local cacti along with other plants that are hardy enough to stand up to the heat of Phoenix. If the weather permits, put on your hiking shoes and head up Camelback Mountain. Trails can be chosen based on skill level and those that make it to the top are rewarded with beautiful views of Scottsdale. In the middle of the day, stop by the Musical Instrument Museum. Sometimes performances are scheduled, and you can always check out a large collection of musical instruments from around the world.
Most of the year Phoenix is hot and dry. Summers bring about some of the hottest temperatures in the United States. In the fall and winter, people often rush to the area because of they can avoid the snow and spend comfortable time outside.
