Tucson lies just an hour north of the Mexican border. Surrounded by a mountainous region, the location offers much for those looking to take in a bit of nature. Getting Around
When visitors fly into Tucson International Airport (TUS), they will land in the southernmost part of the city. East Valencia Road runs east to west from TUS, which connects to Interstate 19 on the west and Interstate 10 on the east.
While both routes travel north and combine within Tucson, I-19 continues south to Mexico and I-10 continues east to New Mexico. From TUS, South Campbell Avenue takes visitors to the Kino Sports Complex and a large portion of the city. Attractions such as Mission San Xavier del Bac can be accessed via I-19 south and taking West San Xavier Road west.
