Incheon International Airport (ICN) is the largest airport in South Korea and one of the busiest in the world. Most travelers reach the airport using Interstate 130 and the Incheondaegyo Expressway.
Flight times from ICN to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) usually last about 11 hours and begin at 4:10 p.m. Upon your arrival at SFO, you can take Highway 101 or Interstate-282 to drive north or south along the coast.
Attractions and tips
The most iconic scene in the area is that of the Golden Gate Bridge spanning San Francisco Bay, and since its 1.7-mile length has a walkway, it can be taken in at leisure by visitors. Alcatraz Island was a federal prison for almost 40 years before being preserved as a tourist attraction.
Fisherman’s Wharf is world-famous for its shops, restaurants and its setting along the waterfront. Though mostly retired, there are still some cable cars in operation throughout the city to transport visitors around the city and take in the sights. San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest and largest area of its kind.
All international travelers who are proceeding to other destinations must process through US Customs and Border Protection at the International Terminal Arrivals Hall. For those travelers ending their trip in San Francisco, the Arrivals Hall should be exited via the door marked “San Francisco” to arrange for ground transportation. If transport is needed between terminals, the AirTrain system provides rapid people-moving service throughout the complex.
