Cheap flights from New York to Maui (Island of Maui)
As New York's largest airport, is accessible to travelers via Interstate 678/Van Wyck Expressway and the MTA subway. You can also hire a taxi or private van service. The AirTrain service makes it simple to get from place to place within the airport. Travelers find flights usually last for just under 10 1/2 hours. After you arrive at Kahului (OGG), get on your way by boarding Route 35 or 40 via the public bus system, take an airport shuttle service or hail a taxi.
Attractions and Tips
Kahului is Maui's main shopping district, and home to big box stores such as Walmart and Costco, which are located along Highway 380. Also, Queen Ka'ahumanu Center has the only department stores in the area, including Macy's and Sears. If you're in the mood for something different, venture to the Wailuku side of Kahului and check out the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC). It hosts dozens of events per year that promote Hawaiian culture, and the arts.
Mid-December through mid-April is the high season, so resorts are often fully booked, and prices are usually higher than during other times of the year. Spring and fall are considered the off seasons, and fortunately, are also when the weather is generally most favorable. Accommodation options besides Kahului include Wailuku and Paia. Both are less than ten miles from the destination island.
