Attractions and tips
The mother of cities has lots to offer the visitor, from a beautiful medieval center filled with monuments to a vibrant nightlife that keeps going until daylight comes around again. Some of the city's highlights include the Presidential Palace and the neighboring medieval castle that tower over the city from the mountain and offer wonderful views over Prague and the surrounding countryside, as well as the famous Charles' Bridge that spans over the Vltava River. Another must-see is the beautiful clock that strikes every hour on Old Town Square. The city's restaurants serve until late and the pubs with their world-famous beer serve until later.
Prague is situated in the very center of Europe and has cold winters and hot summers, with the spring and fall being comparatively mild; visitors should dress accordingly. The city's hotels are mostly found in the city's central district.
