Cheap flights from Boston to Tokyo
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is located just east from the city's downtown and is easily reached by car, taxi or public transport. Flight times are usually around 14 hours to Narita International Airport (NRT).
NRT has excellent public transportation options to all major cities in Japan via its rail link; trains to downtown Tokyo are about 50 minutes and leave often. There is also a bus, which takes about an hour.
Attractions and Tips
Japan's biggest city for centuries, Tokyo boasts many monuments of the nation's long history. At the same time, it is also one of the world's most innovative cities, offering visitors an excellent opportunity to view a confrontation between old and new and the results of that clash. Excellent examples of this can be found in Asakusa, an old neighborhood with modern shops dominated by the spire of the Senso-ji Temple.
For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle, the city's gorgeously landscaped parks are a must-see; Shinjuku Gyoen and Meiji Jingu are the most prominent of these.
Tokyo's climate is more humid than the U.S., with wet, hot summers and dry cool winters; the best time to visit is in the spring or fall when the weather is at its best. Most of Tokyo's hotels can be found in the upscale Chiyoda area, though there are plenty of others throughout the city.
