A Hopeful Season

The San Diego Fleet are one of the original members of the Alliance of American Football. Announced as part of the league in the spring of 2018, the team became members of the western conference. The Fleet play all their home games at the SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, California. They are only one of two professional football teams to reside in the city now that the Chargers relocated to Los Angeles. They share the city with the San Diego Strike Force, which is a team in an indoor football league. With the city located right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, it has deep ties with the United States Navy. The name as well as branding for the team directly reflects this relationship, with the logo depicting a naval battleship. After several coaching rearrangements, the team played their first game at the Alamodome against the San Antonio Commanders. With a score of 15-6, the Fleet registered their first loss in franchise history. The following week the Fleet took on their eastern conference opponent, the Atlanta Legends at their home arena the SDCCU Stadium. They were able to register their first win against the Legends, giving fans hope for the future of the 2019 AAF Season!
