The Orlando Apollos got their start in 2019 as an original charter member for the Alliance of American Football. Based out of Orlando, Florida the team plays all their home games at the Spectrum Stadium, a venue which they share with the University of Central Florida athletics. The Apollos were the first team announced as part of the league in April of 2018, and by the fall of that year they had both a full roster as well as branding. The name for the team was based around the Greek God Apollo, as well as the sunny state of Florida. The colors orange and navy are direct tributes to Florida being the sunshine state as well as the state’s involvement in the Apollo space programs. The logo of the Apollos depicts a man shooting a bow-and-arrow, which is often an associated act with the Greek God. In February of 2019 the Orlando Apollos faced off in their first home game at the Spectrum Stadium. With a victory of 40-6 over the Atlanta Legends, the Apollos set the bar high for the remainder of the season. With an impressive winning record already, fans are excited to see what the Apollos are capable of in the 2019 AAF season!
