Lauren Alaina History

Lauren Alaina was a fan favorite from her initial audition on the tenth season of the hit show, American Idol. Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith and American Idol judge, referred to her early on as "the one". She sang "Before He Cheats" with Carrie Underwood during the finale, but was bested by fellow contestant Scotty Mcreery to earn the runner-up position.

Though she did not win American Idol, she celebrated a different victory by signing with Interscope Records and 19 Records after the competition. her debut sing titled "Like My Mother Does" hit the 49th spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Her performance on the show garnered the attention of other artists, and she went on to make her Grand Ole Opry debut and performed with Martina McBride at the CMA Music Festival all within 2011. Her debut album, Wildflower, entered at number 5 on the US Billboard 200. Alaina went on to tour with huge artists like Jason Aldean and Sugarland the following year. Singles from her next album, Road Less Traveled , made her one of only 3 women to top the Hot Country chart.
