Becoming a bluegrass titan
Dan Tyminski's career took an important turn when he met the young fiddler Alison Krauss at a bluegrass festival. In 1994 he joined her band, Union Station, becoming part of a Grammy Award-winning collaboration. He made a splash in 2001 with the single "Man of Constant Sorrow" for the film O Brother, Where Art Thou? Tyminski's vocals were used as the voice of George Clooney's character. The song won both a CMA Award and a Grammy Award and was dubbed the Song of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. On a brief respite from Alison Krauss and Union Station, Tyminski decided it was time to re-launch his own career. He released Wheels in 2008, an album which climbed to No. 1 on the US Bluegrass Chart. He was invited to collaborate with Avicii in 2013, contributing vocals to Avicii's smash hit "Hey Brother."
