Finding New Purpose in Broken Dreams

Growing up in California, Brett Young got started on the path of music as a teenager. When the band of his Christian youth group found themselves in sudden need of a leader, Brett Young stepped up. After high school, he had planned to pursue a career in Major League Baseball – but an elbow injury put an end to his athletic dreams. Instead, he rekindled his passion for music. Taking after his musical role model Gavin DeGraw, Brett Young poured everything into making music, independently releasing his first EP in 2007. He relocated to Nashville and signed with Big Machine Label Group. A decade after his first EP, he released Brett Young as his debut studio album. His official introduction to the music industry has been lauded as a successful blend of honest country roots with the twang of authenticity coming out in his R&B grooves.
