About A Thousand Horses
A Thousand Horses are a new country band originating from none other than Nashville, Tennessee. They have that zesty blend of classic rock, modern country and cheeky pop style that really set them apart from the rest of the field. Two band mates, Michael Bobby and Bill Satcher grew up in Newberry, South Carolina together and have been making music together since they were 15 years old when they met in a music store. They came together with Graham DeLoach and Zack Brown in 2010 when they moved to Nashville.
Billboard charts from the start
They tinkered with their sound until 2015 when they released "Southernality," which was a compilation of their experience forming the band, to where they got before it was released. Their single, "Smoke" was received extremely well. In fact, it has been years since a new artist has had one of the highest debuting singles like them. Critics and fans alike are dubbing A Thousand Horses as the band to watch this year, some have even declared them as the next Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Smoke" hit the Billboard's Top Five Hot Country Songs chart.
Major influences
If they had to label themselves, A Thousand Horses would say they fall in the genre of "Southern party rock." However, they've also said their influences are fairly wide. They enjoy the Black Crowes, Tom Petty, Aerosmith and Paul Simon. A Thousand Horses energy was attracted by rock turned country legend Darius Rucker, who took them on tour with him.
