I’ve always enjoyed staying at RIU hotels. Staff and service is great. The only complaints I have is the hard beds and no privacy to change if you traveling with kids.

Quick taxi ride to downtown Playa Del Carmen. You will not wait long. Download the RIU app so you can do everything from order room service, refill the minibar, or anything else you could need. Beach is awesome for long walks. Sun chairs easy enough to get full shade to full sun. A few vendors selling things on the beach but they leave you be if not interested. The restaurants and buffets are good, plenty of choices. The staff is pleasant and make your stay great.

The hotel is really good, food is very good, the staff and service are five star. I think the rooms need some update, for example I knew some other customers have issue with A/C. The employees that take care about the rooms are very professional and friendly.
