My partner and I had an enjoyable stay at Secrets Maroma Beach, but there are a few things to consider before booking at this property. Check-in: The process was smooth and easy, though they do send a salesperson your way to try and upsell the preferred club packages. Simply say "no thanks" and you can avoid the sales pitch breakfast. Food: This was a disappointment for us. Despite reading reviews about the mediocre food, I hoped they weren’t accurate, but unfortunately, the food was quite average. It’s not terrible, but for the price you’re paying, it doesn’t meet the standard we’ve experienced at other Secrets properties. Room: The hotel is 15 years old, and the rooms are not as fresh as they appear in the photos online. Some nights, our room felt a bit warm—the AC doesn’t go below 70°F. When we raised this issue, they sent us a fan as a solution, which felt subpar for a five-star hotel. Beach: The beach was okay, not amazing but not bad either. It’s large and great for swimming, but when compared to other resorts in the area, it’s pretty average. Overall: While we had a decent time, I don’t think I’d return to Secrets Maroma Beach. There are better options nearby for the same or better value.

We had an amazing and relaxing trip to Secrets Maroma Beach! We stayed in a preferred ocean view room which was perfect. The room was large and included a soaking tub on the balcony. Our concierge, Emmanuel, was spectacular! He was always available to help out booking time at the spa, answer questions, and made sure we had the best experience possible. We took advantage of the hydrotherapy at the spa that is included with the preferred package. It was so relaxing and I definitely recommend using this service. Alex ran the hydrotherapy on most days that we went and he was great. He guided us through the therapy and then always got us cucumbers for our eyes as a relaxing way to end the therapy. We also had a massage at the spa which was amazing! All of the restaurants were delicious. We had breakfast at either the preferred club or the buffet. Both were great with plenty of options. We ate dinner at Bordeaux, Portofino, Seaside grill and Himitsu. We enjoyed all of these restaurants but especially loved our experience at Himitsu. We went there for dinner on our final night and our waiter, Francisco, made sure it was special. He put together a great tasting menu for us that we truly enjoyed! I definitely recommend seeking him out and asking for his special tasting menu. We really enjoyed everything Secrets Maroma Beach offered and are already looking forward to returning.

My husband and I had the most amazing trip. The property was beautiful. The beach was perfect. The pools and dining options were amazing. The staff was extremely accommodating and very friendly. Everywhere we went no matter what time of day there was someone walking around asking if anyone needed anything I would absolutely go back to this resort or another secrets resort in the future. We’ve been to several resorts in Mexico, and this property was by far our favorite.

Pure Paradise: Our Swim-Up Room Stay Was a Dream Come True From the moment we stepped into our room, we knew this vacation was going to be special. The seamless transition from our private patio to the crystal-clear pool was an absolute game-changer as this was our first time going this route at a resort. From a good standpoint every meal was a delightful culinary adventure, with diverse à la carte restaurants, and poolside snacks readily available. Top-shelf drinks flowed freely, and the friendly staff went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met. Having the pool right at our doorstep meant we could start and end each day with a refreshing dip. Whether it was a morning swim to energize or a moonlit soak to unwind, the pool was our constant companion. The privacy and tranquility of our swim-up room created an intimate, exclusive vibe that made us feel truly pampered. This wasn't just a vacation - it was an escape into pure bliss. The combination of a luxurious swim-up room and all-inclusive amenities made every moment feel indulgent and carefree. We returned home feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already dreaming of our next getaway.

We were here 8 years ago for our honeymoon and wanted to come back for our anniversary. We had a Junior Suite swimout in preferred club. We arent big on partying and were able to seclude ourselves to more private areas when we needed too. The staff here is top notch. Roberto our coincierge was helpful and reached out on a daily basis to help us. Mateo in the preffered Club restaurant was an excellent server and went back almost daily. The beach was constantly cleaned and they made a huge effort keeping it clear of seaweed. I think the resort could benefit having another pool as it was difficult at times finding a spot poolside.

The property is very pretty and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We had a couple of little glitches along the way but Emanuel, the concierge in block 16 is excellent, always going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable (thank you so much!) The food is good, and drinks are good. There are a lot of things to do around the resort, entertainment is really good and there is a lot going on everyday, you can take part or not, it’s your choice. The beach is very pretty and very clean, there was a little seaweed but they kept the beach clear. The main areas in the grounds are well maintained, and the room was very pretty. This was a relaxing vacation for us, and that’s what we got in a lovely setting. It is quite far from Playa Del Carmen and Cancun, so be prepared to pay for a taxi ($33 each way to PDC). There isn’t really much going on in the surrounding areas so, if going to the towns in the evening is your thing, be prepared for that.
