Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) can be reached by the Periferico Sur and by Highway 44.

Flight times from GDL to Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) are usually three to four hours in duration and at TIJ, transportation will usually be via routes 5 and 805, the Rapida Oriente or Highway 905.

Attractions and Tips

The Mercado Hidalgo is a marketplace where fresh meats, fruits and vegetables can be purchased in an old-world market setting. The Playas de Tijuana is one of the best of the area beaches and is usually not overcrowded.

The Tijuana Cultural Center features many exhibits on the local and national culture, including displays on music, art, movies and theater. Golfers in the family will love the Tijuana Country Club, which has well-maintained fairways, greens and offers a challenge to golfers of all levels.

Avenida Revolucion is the main street in Tijuana; a mecca for tourism and features hundreds of shops selling souvenirs, restaurants and locally produced goods. If you enjoy haggling, this is the place to do it.

Tijuana is hottest from May through September, but it never really gets cool in the city, maintaining an average temperature in the 70s even in traditional winter months. The city gets very little rainfall throughout the year.
