Visitors can fly from Dallas to Cancun from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Direct flights are available, and the average flight time is around two hours. Cancun offers white sand beaches and a warm climate year-round, along with a variety of activities. Visitors can choose from a wide range of hotels on the beach, with an array of amenities to suit every taste.
The Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza are one of the most popular attractions of the area. Boating, fishing, visiting the Xel-Ha Water Park and snorkeling the Underwater Museum are other activities that visitors enjoy. Many people prefer to sunbathe on Cancun’s beautiful beaches like Villa Del Palmar or enjoy dancing at the city’s abundance of nightspots such as The City, with many being located off of Highway 307. Take a ferry ride to Isla Mujeres if you want to scuba dive near coral reefs.
You will fly into Cancun International Airport (CUN). Buses, hotel shuttles and rental cars are available to get you to your hotel, but taxis are not allowed at the airport. November to February is the peak visiting season, with maximum sunshine and little rainfall. Cancun is a young city, barely 40 years old, with many new buildings, but it is surrounded by many interesting historical sites in the surrounding jungle, within easy driving distance.
