"Easy access to the colosseum and the termini. Slightly off track from the other highlights but definitely walkable. Lovely traditional restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel. Very basic breakfast but for me it was adequate and I made up later with all the other delicacies of Rome."

Paris boasts a choice of two general airports, Paris Orly Airport (ORY) and Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG). Orly and Charles de Gaulle offer flights with AirFrance, EasyJet and XL Airways France, giving passengers many options for direct flights. Orly is 8 miles south of Paris and is accessible via the A106 autoroute, the RER B train line, or one of several bus lines running to the airport. A cab fare from central Paris to the airport will cost around twenty euros. Charles de Gaulle lies 16 miles northeast of Paris, making Orly the more accessible choice, if not the choice with the most options. The airport is accessible via RER or TGV train routes, bus, or the autoroute A1. A cab fare to the airport costs around fifty euros from Central Paris.

Rome has a choice of two airports: Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) and Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA). FCO is around 22 miles southwest of Rome, and is most easily approachable by the A91 Roma-Fiumicino six-lane motorway. Alternatively, the Leonardo express train will take around 30 minutes to make its way to the city, costing around 14 euros. A cab from the airport to the city will cost around 50 euros, or you can jump on a coach for 2 euros. CIA is 7.5 miles southeast of Rome; direct bus connections are available from nearby train stations, allowing easy access to the historic center of Rome. This is probably the best idea, given that a cab will cost you a pretty penny.
