This team was established in 1961 with the original name the Chicago Packers. They went through a serious of team names including Chicago Zephyrs, Baltimore Bullets, Capital Bullets, and Washington Bullets before deciding on the Wizards. Their greatest success came from their one championship during the 1977-1978 season, when their roster featured the incredible players Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes.
