In 1989 childhood friends Jakob Dylan and Tobi Miller reconnected, founding a band that eventually became the Wallflowers. The group became a staple in the Los Angeles scene, playing venues like Whisky a Go Go and the Viper Room. They released their debut album in 1992 and shortly after joined the Spin Doctors and 10,000 Maniacs on tour. Their sophomore album, Bringing Down the Horse, produced hit singles like "6thAvenue Heartbreak" and "One Headlight," cementing the Wallflowers' superstar status. The album became 4x platinum certified and earned the band two Grammy Awards. After several more albums and playing with megastars like Counting Crows, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and The Who, the band decided to take a break from recording, only going on limited tours. Fans breathed a sigh of relief when the band reunited in the recording studio, releasing Glad All Over in 2012.
