Synopsis
Posing as a musician, Harold Hill comes to the small midwestern town of River City as a con man to sell the townsfolk on auditions to be in the newest boyband. Through promises of training all these young men to become the newest musicians of their time he sells instruments and uniforms to the naïve folk. Ready to cash in and skip out of town, Harold by no means expects to fall in love with the very woman who sees that he is a fraud. Now caught between a rock and a hard place, Harold must decide whether to follow his heart and risk exposing himself or continue down the beaten path he knows all too well.
2020 Revival
In the spring of 2019 it was announced that Broadway would be reviving the classic musical for a third time since its original debut in 1957. The musical will be directed by the Tony Award-winning director Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony Award-winning Warren Carlyle.
