The Fugees formed during the early 1990s. The name of the group comes from a shortening of the term "refugees," which paid homage to the roots of the individual members of the group. The Group consists of multiple members including Wyclef Jean, Pras Michel, and Lauryn Hill. The group started by performing locally before landing a recording deal for the album, The Score, which became one of the best-selling albums of all time in 1996. As a result, the group made its Mark as being one of the most significant hip-hop groups of the 1990s. The group was acting for much of the 1990s before going inactive. They came back together again during the early 2000s, touring for about two years before they broke up again. Now, the group is going on tour once more, giving new opportunities for people to hear the group perform live.
