Sublime's legacy rises like a phoenix
After the tragic death of Brad Nowell and the dissolution of Sublime, bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh reunited again as the Long Beach Dub Allstars. Together from 1997 to 2002, the band performed Sublime songs and new music. In 2009 the musicians reunited again, adding vocalist and guitarist Rome Ramirez and reclaiming the name Sublime. However, after a legal battle with Brad Nowell's estate, the band decided to change their name to Sublime with Rome. They began touring, playing a mix of Sublime music and original material, working out new music in front of their fans at Sublime with Rome concerts. Their debut album, Yours Truly, was released in 2011. Later that year Bud Gaugh left Sublime with Rome to devote more time to his growing family, being replaced by Josh Freese. In 2015 Sublime with Rome released their sophomore album, Sirens, which hit number five on the US indie charts.
