About Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairie Texas on July 22, 1992. Although she got her start as an actress on Barney and Friends, she hit real stardom when fifteen years later she became one of the Disney Channel's most successful teen actresses on the television show Wizards of Waverly Place. But her talent didn't stop at acting. Her fans quickly found that she was also an incredibly talented vocalist, as she recorded the show's theme song, and various other music videos and tracks for Disney films. Singing with The Scene
In 2009, she created the band Selena Gomez & the Scene which marked the start of her professional music career. Her acting career with Disney officially ended in 2010 and her music took off from there. In 2013, Gomez broke from the band and went solo with the album "Stars Dance."
Going Solo
Gomez has been topping charts since her career started with the Scene, but her solo career has seen just as much success. "Good For You," "Come & Get It," and "Same Old Love" have all been included on the Billboard's top hits list. In fact, she was honored as Billboard's Chart Topper for 2015 at Women in Music as a result of her popular music. Her first tour, the Stars Dance Tour, was in 2013, although she has performed in many other concerts, including her best friend Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour.
Gomez’s second album Revival (2015) was her second number one album on the Billboard 200. Three of the singles from the album were in the Top 10 in the U.S. and Canada including “Good For You,” “Same Old Love,” and “Hands To Myself.” With these, Gomez became the sixth woman to ever have three #1 singles on the Mainstream Top 40 chart from a single album. The single “It Ain’t Me” soared to the top of charts internationally in 2017. To make her more impressive, she had a 16-consecutive streak of songs that made top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100- the longest run of any artist.

Gomez has been nominated for all the major awards including a Grammy and an iHeartRadio Music Award. She also been up for several more MTV Video Music Awards, People's Choice Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
