Peter Gabriel and Sting -- now that is a bill. When this duo first announced their Rock Paper Scissors Tour, surely a healthy swath of children of the 70s and 80s shared a collective sigh of happiness and excitement. Peter Gabriel, a progressive rock icon born in the United Kingdom on February 13, 1950, and Sting, the legendary front man of The Police who was also born in the United Kingdom but on October 2, 1951, are sure to bring the house down throughout this tour. Where to begin with these two? Sting's most popular solo song was likely "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You," though he had countless gems with the Police ranging from "Wrapped Around Your Finger" to "Roxanne" and beyond. Folk roots
Both of these musicians came up around the same time, though their tastes are certainly varied. Sting draws a tremendous amount of his style from roots reggae, jazz and early iterations of rock fusion with those genres. Peter Gabriel was more entrenched in folk rock and pop, which he turned into centerpieces of progressive rock music. The two have countless miles between them, as they are both internationally beloved and sought after. This particular tour will run from June through July 2016, and is the second time they have joined forces for a tour, with the first being the immensely popular 1986 Amnesty International shoes. These two have been the best of friends for decades, and attendees to these shows will almost certainly see at least a few joint performances.
