Founded in 1991 in Kansas City, Puddle of Mudd got its name from the constant flooding around the band's rehearsal space. Puddle of Mudd issued two albums before breaking up, but founding member Wes Scantlin continued to pursue music. After establishing a contact with Fred Durst, Scantlin relocated to California and assembled a new lineup for Puddle of Mudd. In 2001 the band released Come Clean, featuring hit singles like "She Hates Me," "Control," and "Blurry." The record went triple platinum and snagged four Billboard Music Awards. Puddle of Mudd went on tour with Godsmack and Deftones, and the WWE started to use their music frequently. A string of records made them one of the biggest post-grunge bands of the 2000s, with singles like "Heel Over Head," "Away From Me," and "Psycho" becoming radio hits. While the band hasn't released a new album since 2011's re:(disc)overed, a collection of cover songs, Puddle of Mudd concerts still rock fans hard. In 2016 the band joined the Make America Rock Again super tour, sharing the stage with superstar bands like Fuel, P.O.D., Alien Ant Farm, and 12 Stones.
