Becoming a radio sensation

As a teenager in England, Michael Rosenberg began taking his music to the next level by writing his own songs. He abandoned his education early to throw himself entirely into his music. In 2003 Rosenberg and Andrew Phillips banded together to form Passenger. The band performed for six years, releasing Wicked Man's Rest in 2007, before breaking up. Rosenberg decided to continue Passenger as a solo act and relocated to Australia. He developed a strong fan base there and released his Wide Eyes Blind Love album in 2009. His popularity exploded as he joined Ed Sheeran on tour and continued to release successful songs. His 2012 album, All The Little Lights, featured the hit single "Let Her Go." The song garnered Passenger a nomination for British Single of the Year at the Brit Awards and snagged him the British Academy's Ivor Novello Award for Most Performed Work. In 2017 Passenger shocked fans with the news that he would be taking a break from touring for a while, though he did release The Boy Who Cried Wolf just a few days later.
