In 2018, the team made it all the way to the US Open Cup, getting eliminated in the quarterfinals. From its early days, Orlando City SC has received fervent support from its local fanbase. The team's home turf debut against New York FC sold out its 60,000 tickets, and the entire first season was one of the best attended in the league. The first game in new Orlando City Stadium was played in 2017 before a sold-out crowd, with Cyle Larin sinking the first goal.
