The Capital One Orange Bowl is a winter college football game played on December 30^th each year. The event is held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The two teams that will play are selected a few different ways. The first team is the highest ranking team in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The ACC compromises of 15 different universities from NCAA’s Division I. The second team is selected as either the second highest ranking team from the Big Ten or the SEC. The Big Ten is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the US. The SEC otherwise known as the Southeastern Conference is comprised of NCAA Division I universities located in the Southern part of the US.

The game will be between Miami Hurricanes and Wisconsin Badgers.

Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes were established in 1926. They compete in Division I in all sports. Their football program has been one of the most popular collegiate franchises in the past few decades. In 2004 the school went from being a full member in the Big East to a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They have had numerous notable alumni across all of their sport programs, Dwayne the Rock Johnson (WWE and Actor), Yonder Alonso (Seattle Mariners), Greg Olsen (Carolina Panthers), Ryan Braun (Milwaukee Brewers), Jon Jay (Chicago Cubs), along with many more.

Wisconsin Badgers

The Wisconsin Badgers name originated when they were given the nickname “Badger State” this was due to the lead miners in the early 1800s. They are one of the most successful college football teams in the Big Ten Conference and have been since the early 90’s. Their sports programs have brought in 28 NCAA national championships since the early 1900’s.
