The National League Championship Series, more commonly known as the NLCS, is a series of games between the two National League teams left in MLB playoffs. The series started out as a best of five game series but then switched to best of seven in 1985. The team who wins this series will move on to face the top American League team in the World Series. 2022 NLCS

The 2022 National League Championship Series is set! The unlikely duo of the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres face off in a best of seven series to determine who advances to the World Series. The journey to get here has been improbable for both teams. Philadelphia, a team that by all accounts underperformed and faced adversity since the start. They spent the majority of the season playing catchup to the New York Mets, and Atlanta Braves. As is the case with playoff baseball, Philly got hot, started winning when it mattered, as hasn't looked back since. They're coming off an impressive ALDS series win over Atlanta and look to stay red-hot against San Diego.

The Padres journey to the NLCS is also impressive. Having defeated the heavily favored, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego is poised to continue the streak and advance. Their pitching staff has been excellent but will be put to the test against a Phillies lineup that's been teeing off against opposing pitchers. Three of the game's best young stars will be on display when San Diego's Manny Machado and Juan Soto go head-to-head against Bryce Harper who has been sensational for Philly this postseason. Game 1 kicks off Tuesday, October 18th at PETCO Park. Zack Wheeler will take the mound for Philadelphia. Wheeler has been absolutely fantastic for Philadelphia this postseason. The Padres will look to Yu Darvish to silence the Phillies lineup. Darvish has also been impressive this postseason and looks to continue his winning ways.
