Creating the band of a generation
Growing up in California, Mike Shinoda was interested in everything from classical to jazz to hip hop. He eventually co-founded a band with two friends from high school, recording their demo in Shinoda's bedroom. The band morphed into Linkin Park, and the group's debut album turned out to be an international sensation. Throughout Linkin Park's career, Shinoda sang, wrote songs, played rhythm guitar and keyboard, and produced much of the music. Despite Chester Bennington being the lead singer for the band, Shinoda's hip hop style shined on several tracks and caught the attention of listeners and critics. In 2004 Shinoda founded Fort Minor to explore his interest in hip hop further. The group's debut album was released in 2005 and featured the hit song "Where'd You Go." Following the tragic death of Bennington, Shinoda released the EP Post Traumatic as part of his grieving process. The EP led to a full-length album in 2018, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Rock chart.
Shinoda shows no signs of slowing down in his pursuit of music, especially with a solo career stretching before him. See where he takes fans next by picking up your cheap Mike Shinoda tickets here!
