She got her foot in the door as a backup singer for Judie Tzuke, who became a mentor and a friend. While her debut single, "It's Too Late," failed to attract the attention of listeners, Lucie Silvas was undeterred. She broke into the industry as a songwriter, writing for artists like Sarah Whatmore, Rachel Stevens, and Will Young. In 2003 Lucie Silvas released her debut album, creating much-earned buzz. Departing from her label after her second album, Lucie Silvas spent time writing new music and collaborating with other artists in Nashville, New York, and the UK. In 2013 she contributed several singles to the NBC musical drama Smash. In 2015 she released an EP, followed by her third album, Letters to Ghosts.
