In 1987, Andre Rieu founded the Johann Strauss Orchestra. The orchestra went from having 12 musicians at the start to 43 by 2008 and getting up to 150 for some performances. Andre considers himself married to his work with the orchestra, spending much of his time traveling with his orchestra and writing music for future performances. The orchestra has been very successful over the years and continues to add new elements to their shows. Europe, North America, Japan and Australia have all had the chance to hear Andre and the Johann Strauss Orchestra live which led the orchestra to win two World Music Awards.
