Rising to British pop music stardom

Growing up in London, Jessica Cornish fell in love with performance at an early age. As a child she performed in a West End production of Whistle Down the Wind and later attended the BRIT School around the same time as Adele and Leona Lewis. Despite being part of a girl group called Soul Deep, Jessie J first found success as a songwriter, working with stars like Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus. After being strongly pursued by Lava Records, Jessie J released her debut single, "Do It Like a Dude," in 2010. The song was a hit, heralding success for her debut album, Who You Are. The record resulted in six Top Ten singles, a record for a British female artist. She's collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj for "Bang Bang" off of 2014's Sweet Talker, and raked in several award nominations.
