John David Jackson grew up in Brooklyn, steeped in East Coast rap culture. While he claims he was never trying to break into music, his talent was undeniable. DJs and music execs had started to take note, and he was soon signed to a label. He released Ghetto Fabolous in 2001, the singles "Can't Deny It" and "Young'n (Holla Back)" snagging the attention of listeners. Fabolous attracts top-tier talent to contribute guest vocals to his singles, featuring artists like Christina Milian, Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Ne-Yo, and Lil Wayne. In 2009 his album Loso's Way crowned the Billboard 200 chart and was accompanied by a thirty-minute short movie starring Fabolous with cameos by other hip hop greats. In 2017 Fabolous showed a new side by contributing to K-pop star Jessica Jung's debut mini album.
