From college dorms to world tours

Dispatch got its start in the early 1990s when Brad Corrigan and Pete Heimbold of the Woodriver Bandits and Chad Urmston decided to embark on a new project together. They first began to make a name for themselves as they toured the local Boston circuit, word of their jam-filled, dynamic shows spreading. They released their debut studio album, Silent Steeples, in 1996. Their fan base ballooned, listeners drawn to their genre-bending indie sound. From funk to flamenco, rap to rock, the musicians of Dispatch shrugged off any convention. However, after four albums, Dispatch devastated fans with news of disbanding. They put on a free concert in 2004, drawing over 100,000 fans from around the world. The members went on to pursue other projects, occasionally reuniting for special Dispatch concerts. In 2011 Dispatch thrilled fans with the announcement that they were getting back together. They also released a new EP, followed the next year by a full-length album.
